1. INTRODUCTION TO THE FUNCTION OF TOURNAMENT DEALS
Players can make a deal when a multi-table tournament (MTT) with cash prizes enters the final table and all players are in the money. The conditions of the deal (the prize the player gets and the position they qualify for) are calculated using the Independent Chip Model (ICM) method. The Independent Chip Model (ICM) is an established distribution method that calculates the probabilities of players achieving each placing based on their current chip stacks and the remaining prize structure.
Information: The Tournament Deals feature is available in all-in poker apps.
2. PLAYING EXPERIENCE
When a player participates in a tournament with the Tournament Deals feature configured and all conditions for dealing are met (players are playing at the final table and are in the money), the Tournament Deals widget symbol will appear on the table (1) to inform the player that they can offer a deal to their opponents.
If the player sees the function for the first time, the Tournament Deals widget expands automatically and displays the checkbox "Let's make a deal!" (2). The widget's info pop-up also expands automatically.
If the player does nothing after the widget has automatically expanded, the widget collapses after a few seconds.
If the player wants to offer a deal, they must click/tap on the "Tournament Deals" symbol to expand it (3) and then click on the "Let's make a deal!" checkbox (4). The text "Let's make a deal!" will then appear on the table next to the person offering the deal (5). In this way the other players are informed that a deal has been offered. The notification disappears after a few seconds.
The tournament will continue as normal until all players agree to discuss a deal. Once all players agree to a deal (by expanding the widget and ticking the "Let's make a deal!" box), players will be notified that a deal will be discussed after the end of the current hand (6). The notification will automatically disappear after a few seconds and a tick will appear above the tournament (tourney) widget symbol (7).
When the hand is over, a pop-up window appears with the conditions for all players to inform them:
- Whether the tournament (tourney) ends after the deal or continues.
- The amounts the players get.
- The final positions of the players if the tournament (tourney) ends after the deal.
- The assigned prize for first place if the tournament (tourney) continues after the deal.
Example of a pop-up window for a tournament that ends after the deal (8) and for a tournament that continues after the deal (9):
All players must agree to the conditions of the deal (via the Accept button) for the deal to be finalised; otherwise the tournament (tourney) will continue as usual.
If a particular person agrees to the offer, a tick appears next to their name in the pop-up window.
If all players agree to make the deal, one of the following scenarios will occur depending on the tournament configuration
-
The players get their prizes and the tournament (tourney) is over (a popup for this case is shown below). The entire prize pool will be distributed during the deal; there is no assigned prize for first place. Players will not get any further prizes from the prize pool for their final ranking. The end of tournament (tourney) message will appear shortly after the deal, informing players of their final position and the fact that their prize has been winnings through a deal.

-
The players get their tournament deal prizes and the tournament continues because part of the prize pool is allocated for first place (a pop-up for this case is shown in the image below). In other words, during the deal, the ICM method calculates the prizes from the part of the prize pool that is not set aside for the tournament winner. After the deal, the players then play for the first-place prize. The winner gets the assigned first-place prize plus the prize from the deal. The end-of-tournament message shows the player's final position, the prize won from the deal, and the first-place prize if the person wins the tournament.
